Defend Ibn Buttota is a game developed in 48 hours in a team of 4. My role in the development was researching information about Ibn Battuta and using it as a core narrative and the character design. I first attempted to model a character inspired by the Arabic cartoon "Shaabiat Al Cartoon," but due to issues with the first concept, I had to scrap it and shift to using assets from Synty Studio to save time. I started the process for the player model by exporting the base models from Synty Studio to Blender and tried modeling the clothes by extruding the faces of the 3D object to match them to be closely to the Arabic culture as best as I could, as for the enemy I did not enough time to model the enemy character so I just used one of the existence models from Synty Studio assets pack and used some of the attachment assets to create the bandit look. When it was time to showcase the game, it had some bugs, but we got positive feedback about the game, and one of the judges offered an internship opportunity.
